Last time we went to Mendocino and stayed in a dog friendly Inn, we picked up fleas. About 10 days later we were covered in bites and then treated the house to bug bombs, washed everything and had flea baths. Today, just back from another trip and a different motel in Mendocino, I felt a little creature on me, pinched it between my fingers and went outside - when it leapt off my finger as I released it - damn FLEA! I just took the dogs outside and brushed diatomaceous earth into their coats. I think Ill wash the bedding and cross my fingers that I got to those suckers before they could multiply and infest. I first was introduced to DE when I got chickens, but it is wonderful stuff and the last time I asked at the farm center, I was told they only had it in 50lb sacks. Well that will last years. I was told I could use it on the dogs, goats and garden too, so here goes :D
