Last vent of the night FB, As we move into little league football season. 3 nights a week plus fees, plus shoes, plus travel fees, plus after hours practice, etc. Thousands of dollars and hours spent over a youth athletic career. There are only 5,042 athletic football scholarships awarded at the D-1 level. There are approximately 254,000 seniors who play football, putting your odds at 1 in 50. Of the 1 in 50 odds only 1.7% of college football players and .08% of high school football players go pro…I thought what would the world look like if those same kids, many children of color were celebrated for spending that time in math labs, science fairs, and physics classes…..How many of those kids would break the grip of poverty….What would the church look like if we celebrated kids learning the ways of God and Bible principles, and how to love your neighbor the way they learn cover 2’s. Not hating on little Johnnie playing sports, but .08% is not a very good return on the investment….What if….Not hate just math….wwwperspective
