Last week, David, Hercules, and I went to a ranch near Kenton, - TopicsExpress

Last week, David, Hercules, and I went to a ranch near Kenton, Oklahoma to get three Great Pyrenees puppies. I took some video of our trip to and from our destination. The first part of the video where you see the snow is the canyon country south of La Junta. After traveling on paved roads--Highways 109 and 160, we turned south onto a gravel road just inside Baca County. From there we traveled the majority of the remainder of our trip on unpaved roads. You can see we had some interesting traveling companions and sites along the way. The draw with the broken up concrete is the dry Cimarron River. In a flash flood you would be stuck on one side or the other, needless to say. Towards the end of the video, you will see a large mesa in front of us. This is Black Mesa. At 4974 feet, it is the highest point in Oklahoma. Kenton is in Cimarron County, which is the most northwestern county in Oklahoma, and has a population of 20. Oh, the puppies names are Big Bud, Hank, and Sassy. Photos of them will be posted soon.
