Last week, FC Barcelona player Andrés Iniesta revealed the Nike Magista, the performance brand’s newest football boot. The brightly colored shoe has a super lightweight feel, due to the Flyknit material. This is Nike’s first time to use the Flyknit technology for a football boot. The woven upper creates a comfortable, yet supportive fit. As a result, the sock-like cleat gives the athlete more control as it allows their foot to be closer to the ball. “The fit of this boot is so unique that I don’t think about it when I’m wearing it,” said Iniesta. “It allows me to move the way I need to instinctively and with more confidence.” Nike’s designers kept the athlete in mind when creating all aspects of the boot. Unlike the classic cleat, the Magista rises above the ankle. This mid-cut Dynamic Fit collar enhances the player’s natural movements. The shoe also features a 3D-knit textured upper that creates better contact and increases control. This is Nike’s first time to use a 3D-knit pattern. The brand’s design team also developed NikeSkin, a thin layer melted onto the upper, which provides protection against water and cold weather. “Our aim at Nike has always been to meet the athlete’s particular performance demands and amplify his unique set of skills.
