Last week, I passed by the Department store to check if the Diana - TopicsExpress

Last week, I passed by the Department store to check if the Diana Ferrari supersoft shoes were on sale. Luckily, I found one on box with a red price tag @ $30. Normally, the price of such shoes is pegged at $149.99. I fitted one pair on my left feet then, I proceeded to the counter to ascertain if the price was really $30. The sales clerk validated it from the system, and told me that indeed, it was $30. She asked if I was going to buy it, and I responded her that I will take it. After payment, she asked me if I needed a box, and answered that I will wear it already. Off I went. While seated, I noticed that my right shoe was bigger than my left shoe. In that instance, I was prompted to take off one shoe after the other. The funny thing is, I discovered that the shoes were not of the same pair---size 6 and 7. So, I decided to go back to the store and had it exchanged for the right pair. At the counter, I told that sales clerk that I am exchanging the shoes and that I just bought it in the morning at 10:45am on that day. She demanded for the receipt and I gladly handed it over to her. She then allowed an exchange. Since size 6 did not fit me right, I chose size a 6.5 instead. Problem is, when the sales clerk was entering it on their computer, the system does not want to accept it at a $30, and her attempt to resolve it on their system for several times were rendered futile. In her exasperation, she called the Dept Manager to help her out. The Manager came and initially, she approved the exchange. I was on the verge of leaving the counter when the sales clerk suddenly called me to tell that something was still wrong. So, I went back to the counter where the Dept Manager discovered the shoes that were on sale was not the one sold to me, but a different Diana Ferrari supersoft--red shoes. The Dept Manager arrogantly told me that I could not get size 6.5 for a replacement because the normal price was $149, and had impliedly insisted for me to get the red shoes for that matter. However, I asked her why I could not take size 6.5 for a replacement when the shoes I was exchanging was exactly of the same brand, style, colour, but that I paid it only for $30 because I took the shoes in good faith, and after ascertaining from their staff that it was really priced at $30. The Dept Manager was very pushy and she told me that I either choose between size 6 or 7, which she said I have already worn. To avoid further argument with her, and as I have been stuck in the counter for 30 mins to one hour that I was constrained to choose size. She then told me to look for the other pair. As I was looking at the Diana Ferrari shoes, the Dept Manager followed suit. From there, she discovered that were more or less five empty boxes of Diana Ferrari. One box I mistook to be the other pair, but when the Dept Manager opened the box, it was a worn out shoes of a customer who managed to replace it with a new one unnoticed. The Dept Manager might be thinking with the discovery that she made about the empty boxes and that they would be incurring another loss with the sale of $30 for the original price of $149 that she offered a refund, and to which I accepted with a heavy heart.(to be continued)
