Last week I thought that nobody could be more stupid than the 840,000 people who thought that a paisley curtain behind President Obama was a Muslim prayer curtain. That is only the tip of the iceberg of stupidity. If you want to see the degree to which modern Americans believe in magic, check out John Olivers rip on Dr. Oz, the medical doctor who believes in magic. People pay $32 billion a year for magical dietary supplements. (Of course, people believe that prayer can influence the Superbowl, so how bright are they?)
