Last week I was commissioned to write a poem for a birthday present. To gather information, I had the client fill out a questionnaire and then I mildly stalked the recipient on Facebook. (Lucky for me the fella was an artist violin player who travels & likes interesting things) It is a strange & glorious feeling to intuitively map a strangers heart. To guess what moves someone by what they have chosen to share with the world. To write & write & write a poem for someone but not be able to see their reaction when they receive it.
