Last week, we approved the first reading of an admission policy for the University Place Steam Program. The policy should be given final approval next week. The admission policy will work as follows: First, all residents of the UP school zone will be admitted. We expect there will be an additional 130-140 slots available after accounting for enrollment from the attendance zone. Those interested in attending from outside the attendance zone may apply by July 12. There are not particular criteria for admission. If there are enough spaces, all who apply will be admitted. If there is more demand than spaces, admission will be done through a lottery.
