Last week we reported that we had only raised $1,450 of our $200,000 goal for our Razoo online fundraiser. Please forgive us for any misreporting, we were unaware that any offline donations to our Capital Campaign could be added to the online fundraiser and we were tracking them separately. This is all new to us! Here is a breakdown of what we are are trying to do: We have raised $800,000 of the $1 million needed to build the Educational Center. The Razoo fundraiser was created to raise the final $200,000. Including the parking lot, the entire project will cost $1.2 million. So, when we found out a benefactor was donating $100,000 to the Educational Center, we put that amount in the fund for the project, but did not count it on Razoo. That was a mistake on our part, but we have learned! Now that amount and a few more donations that were given offline are being added to the online campaign. We are working hard so we can accurately report to you how close we are to meeting our goal!!! The new total is $102,365!!! We are so close that plans are underway to begin construction early next year!!! This expansion has been years in the planning, the first of its kind for us, and we have learned a lot.
