Last week you identified your face shape. Now that you know what styles you can wear we can go on to step 2. What’s my hair color! So what does your skin tone got to do with your hair color? ........ EVERYTHING! Okay I’ll explain, you know how when you wear that favourite blue shirt of yours and you always get complimented on it and your girlfriends say ‘that is so your color!’ That is exactly it… IT’S YOUR COLOR! Your hair color works the same way. You either look good in a certain color or you don’t that simple. Sometimes a hair color can make you look washed out and other colors will make your skin glow. Alright let’s get to the point you either have warm or cool skin tone some lucky people (like ovals in face shapes) are neutral they can wear any color. How to know the difference …… easy peezy. No it is actually hard to see so you need an extra set of eyes to help you on this one, I will tell you why. Because we all secretly prefer either a cool or a warm tone so you will just choose the one you prefer right. That’s why you need a judge. There are numerous different ways to identify your skin tone. Here are a few that I know of: 1. Look at your veins under your wrist if it is blue you are cool if it is green you are warm. 2. If you look better in crisp white than cream you are cool and vice-versa for warm tones. 3. If your skin glows when you wear gold you are warm and silver for cools. 4. You can also grab gold and a silver cloth. Hold each one separately on your skin and ask your judge witch one looks best. 5. If you have an olive skin and green eyes or tan easily you are likely to have a warm tone. 6. If you have blue eyes and pale skin or burn easily you are likely to be cool toned If you and your judge are still uncertain don’t worry then you’re likely to be one of that lucky people that are neutral. High five! So this means you should stick to your true tone to have the ultimate hair color and this also applies to your clothes and we just learned your jewellery too. And that my dear friend is the big secret! Remember you get warm and cool tones in every color. HUH?... yes if you like red then go for it If you are warm stick to copper reds and if you’re cool then rather go for the reds with a tinge of violet in it same with blondes and brunettes. Now if you are warm toned and love your ash blonde locks and hating me right now don’t yet. I know as good as anyone that rules are meant to be broken but you have to understand the rules first! You can go against what you are naturally by use of make up! So if you prefer to be cool then by all means go visit your nearest MAC counter and grab a foundation (be careful of going too pink) and eye shadows of the cooler tones!
