Last year there were 340 new billionaires and not one black person made the list. Even with the 2 new additions this year, Folorunsho Alakija and Michael Jordan there are still only 9 black billionaires out of over 1400 globally. Also, in the last century only 2 black owned businesses went public with an IPO. and reading some of these remarks on that photo I posted yesterday about why its okay to sleep on the floor...or seeing a lot of our conscious communities be so anti capitalism its not hard to see why. Everything currently revolves around economics....everything. You can have all the knowledge or righteousness in this world but you cannot call massive shots or make any massive changes being poor. Obama just signed an executive order that protects gay people....why not one that protects marginalized black people? Because money talks...those animal rights and gay rights groups can write checks and lobby... If you cant write a check, youre essentially worthless in this playing field of social, economic and power politics. #Elevate
