Late one night, Jake laid himself down in the middle of the road, ready to give up. He was starving and covered in antifreeze, with no hope in his eyes. For weeks after his rescue, Jake was frail and exhausted by the smallest exertions. As Jake began to regain his strength he also began to reveal extraordinary charm and benevolence. Jakes gratitude towards his saviors was apparent; but Jakes occasional anxiety and nervousness towards new humans was also becoming apparent. Despite his fearful moments (what his foster mom believes to be a lack of trust and socialization as a result of negligence during his former life) Jake has always been able to establish a bond with anyone who gives him a chance - humans and animals alike. Jake is exceptionally loyal. Once Jake makes friends, he considers those individuals friends for life. Furthermore, Jake has NEVER displayed aggression towards humans when he is fearful. Jake was also diagnosed heart worm positive. Believing he is as remarkable as his story, Jakes foster family covered the cost of his treatment which he underwent January 6, 2014. Jake is now with a awesome family that adores him and thinks he is in better terms the cats meow. And they want to share Jake with the world.
