Lately I have been getting a lot of emails and texts asking about who exactly received their hair donation and how it works. So heres the journey of your hair donation: I certainly dont get as many donations as the big companies out there but, it does feel like Christmas every Friday. I go to gather all my wonderful envelopes of hair from all over the country and each week I average about 10 - 30 ponytails. They come in all shapes and sizes and each one is so special to me and my company. After they are received, my amazing wig assistant, opens the envelopes and sorts the hair from the letters and photos. Each photo and letter is then placed in a photo album and the names recorded so that they can be ready to printed on my Angel Wall. ( Soon to be on my website at some point this year! ) The ponytails are then cleaned, sorted, measured and stored away for when that special client walks through the door and we begin designing her dream wig. Its an amazing process and takes some time. After we have decided what hair to use (it can take up to 3-4 ponytails to make one wig), we then weigh it and I take the market cost per ounce off the price of one custom wig. Saving my clients $$$$$!!! Sadly, between the wig making, the clients and the meetings and my need to save money - the postage and thank you notes are the last thing I can do but, Im working on it. Im hoping to have something cheap and easy and paperless in place but 2015. For now: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for and everyone of my amazing hair donations. My clients and I thank you so much for making this all possible. Its a dream come true to be able to do what I do! Thank You Stephanie Caillabet owner / wigmaker
