Lately I have not been able to avoid noticing the ALS Challenge (aka dumping cold water on myself because Im an activist and I care about things and I want everyone and their cousin to know it). In fact I have been nominated twice to do it. I will not be doing it. Do not expect a video from me. I respect everyone who has decided (Im sure purely from their own sense of duty their fellow man and not because the thing is trending on the interweb) to partake in the challenge. I am glad that this disease is getting so much attention, but I would prefer it if all the battles we/I fought were ones that we/I truly cared about. How many of you really cared (or knew about) about ALS before this trend started? Personally, and everyone else is welcome to their own opinion, I believe that the challenge is stupid, and that there are better reasons to douse myself in ice water and better (closer to my heart) causes for me to donate my money and time to.
