Lately, I have noticed more and more comments concerning judging - TopicsExpress

Lately, I have noticed more and more comments concerning judging one another. A lot of people feel as if we do not have the right to judge other people or their actions. The fact is, we do have the right and while most people quote the Bible as their source for not judging, it is the Bible that tells us to judge. It tells us what right is and what wrong is. It tells us to stay away from people who commit certain acts. It tells us that certain acts are to be punished, for example murder. The Bible is written with the very intent to teach us how to live. What it tells us about judgement is to be careful how we judge, for with what judgement we judge, we will be judged. That means that if I am upset about someone who has kidnapped a child and want them punished, I better make sure I have not done the same thing. If I want God to punish someone for rape, stealing, beating their wife, or any other infraction, I had better make sure that I am willing to take the same punishment for the same crime if I have committed it. If we lived in a society where no one had the right to judge anyone else for their behavior, we would be living in complete chaos. There would be no right or wrong, because no one would have the right to challenge anyone else or anything they have done. Just my two cents for the day.
