Latest KogiNews Kabba Bunu LG Chair Suspended for 3 Months Following allegations on diversion of funds and award of contracts without due process by Council Chairman of Kabba Bunu LGA of Kogi State, Hon Emmanuel Funsho, the fifteen elected councilors from the area have asked the chairman to proceed on a three months suspension. In a unanimous decision on Thursday at the Council Chamber of the Local government, fifteen elected councilors from the area invoked section 29 of the Kogi State Local Government law 2008 as amended in year 2001. Council Leader of Kabba Bunu LGA, Olorunmola Yomi Mathew, who briefed the press, said the Chairmans suspension also followed executive recklessness and disobedient to lawful order. The Councilors equally accused the Chairman of procuring inferior vehicles as against what was budgeted by the council. He was also alleged of flagrant abuse of employment process and unauthorized approval of soft loan for which the loans where released has not been executed. The decision according to the Council Leader, said the suspension letter has been transmitted to the Kogi State House of Assembly in accordance with section 17 of the Kogi State Local Government Law 2008. It would be recalled that workers of the council on Tuesday this week took to protest over the refusal of the chairman to pay them their 10 month salary arrears. They alleged that the council chairman has been paying 30% salary with arrears amounting to N100 million. Some workers in the council who spoke to Kogireports alleged that the suspended Chairman cannot account for N20 million SURE-P funds.
