Latest Transfer Rumour : Alexis Sanchez Liverpool FC are lining up an ambitious bid for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, according to the Daily Star Sunday. The Chilean, 25, is expected to shine at this summers World Cup but is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time at Camp Nou. The paper claims this has alerted Brendan Rodgers, who is set to battle it out with Arsenal for his signature. And the Reds are set to battle Arsenal for Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez too, the Sunday People claims. The 25-year-old can operate in both central midfield and central defence, and the paper believes Liverpool want him for his defensive talents. With Arsenal already lurking, the club will look to bring him to Anfield if he becomes available. German newspaper Bild, meanwhile, claims Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can has agreed a deal to join Liverpool. Can, dubbed the next Michael Ballack, has impressed in the Bundesliga this season after moving from Bayern Munich last summer. And the German media believe the Reds have all-but-sealed a move for the dynamic 20-year-old. Finally, the Wilfried Bony links will not go away, with the Sunday People reporting the Reds are in a £20m race for the Swansea star.
