Latest Vacancy: Senior actuarial analyst: Lloyds.London Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Syndicate capital setting: Undertake a qualitative and quantitative review of syndicate SCRs and their validation Provide leadership within the Lloyds team on issues relating to capital for a portfolio of syndicates Present recommendation on syndicate SCRs to the Capital & Planning Group 2. Regulatory/Lloyds Actuary: Review portfolio of actuarial opinion reports and provide feedback Review information and benchmark results to signing actuaries on time with clear communication Undertake or assist in the development, implementation and operation of Lloyds overseas actuarial regulatory requirements conducted centrally, mainly Canada, Switzerland, Turkey, Australia, and Hong Kong. 3. Reserving: Assist in the development and running of MRCs annual syndicate reserve benchmarking exercise, including feedback and discussion with managing agents on results Carry out independent projections of market reserves for a variety of classes of business Assist in estimating and providing updates on the level of reserve surplus in the market (MRCs view of reserves versus reserves held by the market) and highlighting areas of concern/focus for further thematic work. This will include estimating reserve uncertainty. Quarterly monitoring of actual versus expected claims development by class of business plus associated follow up actions for class or syndicate specific issues. Quarterly monitoring of the development of large losses at a market and syndicate level Assist in improvement, maintenance and consistency of MRC quarterly and annual data received from the market. Assist in setting parameters for certain inputs to the Lloyds Internal Model (LIM) and syndicate capital benchmarking tool (ICP). Provide general reserving support as required on an ad-hoc basis e.g. investigation into reserving cycles or syndicate specific issues Provide support to other departments regarding actuarial and reserving issues. 4. Solvency II: Assist Lloyds regarding completion of QIS (or standard formula (SF) exercises) Lloyds aggregate completion of QIS / SF exercises analysis of syndicate QIS / SF submissions support for agents if required Support Lloyds development of technical provision methodologies for Solvency II including design and completion of thematic analyses and aggregate calculations 5. Other: Support to other departments regarding general actuarial and reserving issues as required. For example, this may include supporting Open Years Management (OYM) on quarterly reserve reviews for key syndicates and providing feedback on monitoring exercises or assisting Tax with Claims Equalisation Reserve calculations. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Knowledge of commercial general insurance business and preferably of London Market or Lloyds. Actuarial qualification or strong commitment to obtaining the actuarial qualification with good exam history. IT skills (minimum intermediate level).
