Latest in the continuing saga on getting MTS to respond to SeaWorld Securitys refusing to allow me access to the public bus stop at SeaWorld San Diego after our Memorial Day weekend demo. I just talked with the MTS Customer Relations Supervisor, Belinda Fragger, with whom I first talked on 7/2/14, after leaving a message on 6/30/14 (see following) -- my case has been referred to Karen Landers, the MTS General Counsel, to determine access to the bus stop. I once more requested that I be provided with a written response, and Belinda took my phone number again, and assured me (again) that someone will follow up with me. This is what I heard from Belindas fellow Supervisor, Christine Gonzales, when I called on 7/9 to check on status. Last week I was unexpectedly called to Atlanta, so didnt do my weekly check then. BACK ON IT. You aint shakin me, MTS. 7/2/14: The MTS Customer Relations Supervisor, Belinda Fragger, told me today on the phone that SeaWorld Security should not have done that -- you DO NOT have to be going to/from SeaWorld to use that public bus stop. When I asked for MTS to formally advise SeaWorld San Diego of this, she said that would have to come through the MTS Legal Dept., and she is referring my complaint to them. Stay tuned ... Background: On 5/24/14, I took the #9 MTS Bus from Pacific Beach and got off at the SeaWorld stop, then walked through the parking lot with my protest sign -- Security told me I had to leave, to which I replied that I had taken the public bus, gotten off at the public bus stop and was walking to the demonstration site. They just followed me off the SeaWorld premises. Not so easy RETURNING -- SeaWorld Security threatened me with arrest for trespass if I tried to return to the same bus stop to get back to PB. Nearest other bus stop is at Ski Beach, over a mile away. I managed to convince an SDPD officer to escort me to the SeaWorld bus stop in his car, and I waited for, and boarded, the 9 bus without incident, albeit watched by 2 SeaWorld Security vehicles. I filed a complaint with MTS to clarify the policy on the publics access to the SeaWorld bus stop -- since there is NOTHING in MTS published Route 9 information to indicate that this stop is restricted in any way. Other than the bus doesnt stop there when SeaWorld isnt open.
