Latin Stereotype: Have you noticed, in american media, everytime they show a latina (sometimes latinos e.g. the hispanic character from the show Dexter) the character blurts out a phrase in Spanish, with the a passionate tone, then translates there phrases into english using a regular speaking tone? I call that archetype The Spicey Latina. The spanish speaking person who has an uncontrollable need to blurt out spanish phrases while in the company of non spanish speakers. Why would you constantly say things in spanish knowing youre going to have to repeat the entire phrase again in english? Its not offensive but its kind of a weird stereotype, i dont know many latinos who are that redundant.
