Launch of Cavan Walking History Tour took place today at Abbeylands. This project was very much a collaboration of Cavan Chamber of Commerce, Cavan Town Council and members of the public who contributed valuable information. Cavan is rich historically and we hope that this will not only add to Cavan’ attraction as a tourist destination, but also inspire local people to find out more about their heritage. 26 signs have been erected around the town and each sign has a unique QR Code for that particular location. A Free App can be downloaded to read these QR Codes and when scanned with a smart phone or ipad etc, the user will be brought into a website which will give details of the building or location and has old photographs and stories about Cavan. We would like to thank all the property owners for giving us their permission to erect the signs and to all those that contributed in anyway.
