Launch of Rate your Local Police, a new online public feedback tool created by Leicestershire Police You may have already seen or heard that last week we launched a new online public feedback tool, Rate your Local Police. A week on, I thought it would be a good idea to explain how the site works and share with you how it is going so far. In the first week we have had a great response, with more than 100 reviews submitted. As expected, there has been a range of reviews and the Force’s current overall rating is 3 out of 5 stars. Rate your Local Police enables people to log on and feedback on any interaction they’ve had with the police based on a five star rating – similar to TripAdvisor. There is also an option for the public to provide additional comments and information. We are leading the way with this new tool and are the first in the country to develop and roll it out force wide. The system has been created to enhance public confidence in policing, help identify any areas for improvement and provide another way for people to get in touch. It also allows the Force to easily respond to feedback. Since the launch, the Home Secretary Theresa May has praised Leicestershire Police for its “outstanding” work in creating this tool. If you are interested in taking a look at the reviews we’ve received so far, go to leics.police.uk/rateyourlocalpolice Please could you encourage members of the public to log on and provide feedback. Good or bad, we want to hear about the service we provide. Kind regards, Simon Cole Leicestershire Police Chief Constable
