Help4workingparents, Inc. is proud to help facilitate the Laundry Love outreach event in Harbor City, CA with neighboring non-profits, churches, social entrepreneurs and individuals at King’s Laundromat, 1330 Pacific Coast Highway, Harbor City, CA, on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Laundry Love (LL) is an initiative in partnership with individuals, groups and local laundromats throughout the U.S. The LL initiative helps to wash the clothes and bedding of individuals and/or families living in poverty. laundrylove.org Low income families, single parents with children and marginalized individuals know the daily pressures of providing shelter and food. Paying $500-$1,200 per month for a one-bedroom or studio motel room can pull the financial rug out from under them. The cost of washing clothes is just another financial burden: $1.75plus to wash a single load, and $1-plus to dry adds up quickly. (Costs vary) Laundry Love seeks to bring economic relief by giving the individual or family the option to redirect funds toward food, medical, gas or transportation costs as well as school supplies and other basic, everyday necessities.
