Lauren Pozen KSPR News here with an update you saw on KSPR News Tuesday about neglected horses in Flippin, Arkansas. The horses former owners son called me today. I want to make it clear, I gave the horses owner (his father) every opportunity to speak on camera. The owner declined and said he was too busy. Heres a summary of what his son told me: 1. The mare who died and we were told by the rescuers was pregnant, he says was male. 2. The baby horse in the picture, he says was a runt. When I pressed about the horses weight, he would only say the horse was a runt. 3. Says the hay you saw in the beginning of the piece was brought in from him, not other people. Youve seen the pictures, youve watched the story. I will leave it up to you as the viewer to make the final judgement here on whether or not these horses were starved and neglected.
