Lawn Mower Mayhem Derby Rules 1.Must be 16 years of age. 2. Mower class will be determined by the judges the day of the derby. 3. Gasoline only, no other fuel. 4. No foam or liquid filled tires. 5. Any riding mower with a front mounted engine allowed. No rear mounted engines permitted 18 horse power maximum. Electric start preferred but if you have a pull start you must be able to start FROM YOUR SEAT. No zero turns mowers. 6. Decks must be removed. You may make a homemade exhaust but it must point straight up and be permanently fixed not wired on. 7. Bars will be welded on the side of the mower for leg and foot protection only. 8. If battery or fuel tank is in the front of the engine it must be moved to a safe location. 9. You may make a hand throttle for your use. Hoods must be bolted or wired down tightly. 10. You may use a spark plug protector. This must be mounted to the engine only 11. You may weld flat bumpers to the front and rear of the mower. They cannot exceed the width of the frame. They also may not exceed further then 6” from the mower. No pointed or jagged edges allowed 12. Bumpers are optional, if you have bumpers front height should be at 10”. 13 .No excessively thick bumpers (not over 1/8” x 3” angle-iron) remember these are mowers. 14. Nothing may protect the tires in any way. No frame reinforcement permitted except what may be needed to attach bumpers and cages too. Self-tapping screws are permitted. 15. Pulleys may be changed to your desired gearing. 16. Helmets and boots are required. Hits are to be made to the front ends and tires of other mowers. Rear hits may be made using smart judgment. 17. No homemade mowers are permitted. 18. Rear wheels may be no larger than 13”. Chains or wheel weights are not allowed. 19. Drivers are to remain on their mowers at all times unless mower is tipped over. No getting off to work on your mower. Doing so will result in disqualification. 20. Absolutely no sandbagging or gang hitting .You will receive one warning. Second time disqualification. You will have 60 seconds to make an aggressive hit or you will be disqualified. 21.
