Lawnton Poultry Club uses the Pine Rivers Showgrounds poultry shed and its too small. We increase our space by getting fairly creative and using a shade shed or marquee but we ideally need more space. We have had meetings this week with our local member about putting an extension on the shed. The way to make the use of space more attractive to the Show Society (who have land tenure) is to make it multi-purpose so roll-away cages necessary, and a store to keep them in. A rough sketch has now gone out for quoting and the plans and the Show Society is aware of the potential project. The reason the addition is separate and free-standing is to avoid touching the existing shed which would be tricky with Council. Fingers crossed we can get through the forthcoming hurdles and get the job done.
