Lawson & Hook share lead at Riverside Oaks Jamie Hook and Deyen Lawson are tied for the lead, two strokes ahead of a chasing pack with one round to play at the famed Riverside Oaks layout in the Hawkesbury region of Western Sydney. Hook posted a third round one-over-par 73 to fall back into a tie with Lawson who posted the equal low round of the day, a three-under-par 69. Joining the leaders in the final group will be defending champion Richie Gallichan who fought back from a poor start to shoot one-under-par 71 and stay within reach of the leaders and keep his title defence alive. “I had to battle early on to keep myself in it but got it going into the final round which is all i can ask for” said Gallichan. Hook maintained his lead until consecutive bogies on 16 & 17 saw Lawson take a share of the lead. An eagle on the par-five 10th hole set up a closing back nine of three-under 33 and ensure a dramatic finish on Friday afternoon. Lawson hails from Curlewis Golf Club in Victoria and will have to deal with playing alongside the two local favourites. Hook is in his third year of his traineeship at Charlestown Golf Club in Newcastle while Gallichan is based at Longreef Golf Club on Sydney’s northern beaches. Friday’s final round begins at 8:30am with players teeing off both 1st & 10th tees. Entry is free for spectators and visitors welcome to attend the final round and presentation ceremony.
