Lawsuit seeks to force processing of Ga. voters ATLANTA (AP) – A lawsuit seeks to force voting officials to enroll potential voters in Georgia ahead of the upcoming election. The lawsuit brought Friday by the New Georgia Project asks a state judge to compel Secretary of State Brian Kemp and county election officials to promptly process voter registrations in time for the upcoming midterm elections. The New Georgia Project ran a voting registration drive and submitted more than 86,000 applications. The organization said more than 40,000 of those applicants still are not on voting rolls. Kemp’s office is investigating allegations of voter fraud. Kemp spokesman Jared Thomas said the office had not seen the lawsuit.
