Le ladakh, from the rooftop of the world with love (Written the 17 august, in Keylong) Here’s the beginning of the series “Nathalie and Jeremie show you how cool it is to ride across India”!! For those who receive this newsletter without knowing us, we’ve upgraded the website: inde-a-velo.jeremiebt/projets/ Juley! (Hi, in Ladakhi) Good morning from the other end of the tectonic plate. It’s difficult to make Mother India fit in a blog. It’s quite like trying to insert an elephant, even an asian one, into a tyre valve. An universe by itself, rich with its 5000 years history, cultures, arts, religions which, even if the country has much evolved during the past decades, buid the whole thing together. We don’t know jack about india. A nan restaurant, next to your flat, some webmailed pictures, some supposed smells, imaginary sensations and names coming from our past: Bénarès, Ladakh, Jaisalmer… Huge spike diving in Indian ocean, the southern peninsula is the warm and wet heart of the under-continent. The mountains topped by snow on the north and the sunburned plains are in contrast with the luxuriant south. In this first biking-report, we bring you to the Indian north pole, home of the eternal snow, yak, long-haired goats and Indians, long-haired too. Come with us to go across passes, to climb and descent incredible turning roads, to rub shoulders with nomads and high plateau inhabitants, to visit some perched Buddhist monastery, or to share some time with military troops guarding this conflict zone of both Tibet, India and Pakistan… Here is the daily life of whoever who wants to go in the towns of the Ladakh, oasis made of some stone houses surrounded by fields of barley, Tibetan land since VIIth century, close to the Chinese border… Even if we haven’t enough space in our saddlebags, we bring you in India. Here is the website: inde-a-velo.jeremiebt And don’t forget to play our quiz to win some water painting!! inde-a-velo.jeremiebt/jeux/ Bhaarat me aapka swagat hai !! (Welcome in India !!) Nathalzon et Jeremzin, travelling world eater. PS1: Follow us by your computer at inde-a-velo.jeremiebt/carte/ PS2 : Even if we prefer “you get drunk off” rather than “you piss me off”, you’ll find at the bottom of this newsletter a link to follow if you wish to unsubscribe. PS3 : Give us some news from you!! And leave comments on our website, we’ll read them greedily PS4: ThanX to Alex and Xav who transform our shots and printings in wonderful reports for your eyes. PS5: Thanks to people who invited us to sleep in their home… PS6: Whosaywhat? “I’ve never had a such overcharged bike, but it looks a little like “Vélo bleus…”
