Leadership. A persons personal principles such as integrity, morality, common sense, ethics, open mindedness, honesty, willingness to listen-learn-work-grow, willingness to give credit where it is due instead of feeding personal ego, willingness to serve with honor, mental stability, personal courage to confront what must be confronted, caring, sense of humor, and -of course - patriotism, and other positives can make or break a true leader. This is not to say that good leaders will always be successful. But having the positive attributes above will certainly improve the chances for success even in a battlefield where one is outnumbered.
