Leadership A poem by Stacy Walters 04/15/2010 Workers come and workers go, but leaders strive to stay and grow. Few will dare to face the heights, to trudge along and face their frights. Leaders overcome their fears. They face the wind and shed few tears. With strength and courage they proceed. They rise because they see the need. They work for all. They work for good. They do so for they know they should. With quiet calm and selfless will, they journey on and climb the hill. And they bring others on their way, to help them see the part they play. And so the torch gets passed along. Our light stays bright, and clear, and strong. So rise my friend and hear the plea. Become the leader you can be. Rise up. Go. Pursue your call. Don’t be afraid to trip or fall. For nothing’s gained if we don’t try, if our one chance just passes by. There’s work to do; it must be done. You, my friend, may be the one. So set your course and forge your way. Make the choice to lead, today.
