Learning It is being commonly said that, “when you stop learning you start dying”. Continuous learning is the key to continuous development and advancement in life. However, what is the true parameter for measuring learning? How do I know that I am learning, or how do I know that I have learned? The true evidence of learning is change. If you are not changed, then you have not learned. If you are not changing, you are not learning. The purpose of learning is to produce change. Learning does not just stop at acquisition of knowledge; it includes the application of knowledge in order to effect positive changes. If you are not changing you are not learning. Think deep about your life, are you changing? If you are, how much are you changing? If you claim to be learning and you are not changing, you are only deceiving yourself. Sit down and sincerely assess yourself, ask yourself questions: Am I changing? Is my language changing? Is my attitude changing? Is my diligence changing? Is my faith changing? Is my relationship with God and others changing? If you cannot point to tangible changes in diverse areas of your life, then you are not learning. It doesn’t matter how many church services you attend, how much notes you write or how many books you buy, if you are not changing, you are wasting knowledge. And the only way not to waste knowledge is to apply it. The application of knowledge is the point of change. So start applying the knowledge you have acquired. Application leads to improvement. Exercise brings about perfection and excellence. It is knowledge plus application that brings about change. And that is the authentic proof of learning. Your life will be better than where it is today if you know and apply more knowledge today.
