Learning #business Model and profitable responsibility delegation from this brilliant pet owner / businesswoman in Mumbai. Lessons Learned : 1. Understand of peoples beliefs and sentiments. People in India consider a cow holy and thus consider feeding a cow a good karma earning exercise. This is the foundation, if you get it right, other things become easy, even automatic. 2. Weave a business model around these beliefs. Letting people buy little bit of happiness always wins hearts and business. 3. Make your product / service offering available at the right place. This lady chose to position herself near a temple on not so busy street. knowing that you will find a cow to boost your karma points daily at a particular location seems attractive proposition ( which otherwise is not possible with fast life on Mumbai streets.) 4. Pricing should be just right so that many people afford your product. People definitely think its okay to buy grass from the lady, proves this point. Make it too expensive and people will cut and bring grass as food on their own. 5. Delegation of your responsibility is possible easily if you have right system in place. She could have fed her cows at home and gone off to work. She give people opportunity to do her responsibility by growing food, and taking food as well as cows to the location. Brilliant system implementation for her to earn money as well as milk and dung cakes (fuel).
