Leave it all to Brittany to stump even the best doctors in the field at Mayo. The doctor that I spoke to this evening was beside himself because on the X-ray Brittanys lungs were almost completely whited out with something dense, some type of fluid. The confusing part for him was that when they did a bronchoscopy, her lungs were clean. Usually with an X-ray like that, they would expect to find something with puss, signaling an infection. She continues to be stable, but is pretty heavily sedated because she continues to get anxious and breathes over her vent. We are really hoping that rest will do her good and allow her time for her lungs to heal. Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, and generosity!
