Lebanon Focus: electronic application procedures, horses and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The import documentation for Lebanon has been reviewed and adapted accordingly. The following changes have been made: Electronic Application Procedures A new online interface, by means of which most applications for import procedures may be applied for electronically, has recently been launched in Lebanon. The document entitled Registration with the Lebanese E-Government Portal has consequently been added to this report. For a summary of applicable registration procedures, please refer also to the section on Registration below. Importation of Horses The document entitled Permit to Import Horses has been blue-pencilled and equipped with the current version of the application form. In addition, the following document, which must accompany every consignment of live horses bound for Lebanon, has been newly incorporated into this import documentation: Horse Passport. Veterinary health conditions, including the appropriate certification as detailed in the chapter on Live Animals and Animal Products in this overview must furthermore be met. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) Information on the national competent authority (NCA) responsible for issuing documents in the framework of international trade with GMOs has been added to the chapter on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in this overview.
