Lecturer Wanted - UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA - LINCOLN Temporary Lecturer in Chemistry The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) is seeking a full-time temporary Lecturer to teach principally organic chemistry courses beginning Fall semester 2013. This is a non-tenure track nine-month academic year appointment with full benefits and holds the possibility of a one- or two-year initial appointment, depending on qualifications, and subsequent renewal. Responsibilities will include teaching multiple lecture sections of introductory organic chemistry, managing Teaching Assistants, holding office hours, and associated responsibilities. Alternative teaching responsibilities may include introductory chemistry, general chemistry, chemistry laboratory classes, or honors seminars. There are no assigned duties during the summer months, but there may be opportunities for summer teaching for additional salary. We seek an individual who has an innate interest in teaching and who can motivate students to learn through student-centered learning techniques. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in chemistry, chemical education, or a related discipline and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education; in recent years all appointees at a minimum have completed all of the requirements for the Ph.D. except the dissertation.
