Christians believe in God in state, In angels, prophets, and in books Of revelation in their nooks, And in the coming judgment day. The disagreement in array Is that Christians see the one God To be a Trinity in pod, And Muslims add one prophet to The list and one more book in view. The differences thus seem small. And yet if we look at the wall Where Christians write the faith in short, We find more differences in sport. The creeds insist on Trinity, That Jesus died for you and me, And that baptism is by grace The channel of salvation’s pace And Eucharist somehow brings down Christ’s presence on the church and town. The priesthood’s needed to instate The sacraments of grace come late. Even when priesthood of believers Is proclaimed, we are no deceivers To see the clerical regard Is very great if never hard. While Muslims can and must return To God alone and never learn To depend on the cleric’s aid, Still power of clerics on parade Appears also in Muslim space. The difference is just a trace. While Christians may believe in prayer And fasting and pilgrimage care And giving alms, they differ in The details to preserve from sin. And sin is one point in the gap. For Christians mostly sins can wrap The human heart and soul from birth. It is an inborn, fast unworth. The Muslim concept of sin stays In how a persons does or strays.
