Left Handed 2014 Gibson Historic 1959 Les Paul, Special Order, Supremely Figured Top: This is a special order guitar from Gibson’s Made to Measure Program, based on a knockout maple blank that only required one look to place an immediate order. Broad tiger flame that reminds me of the great tops from the mid-90s! Very active flame with maximum movement which highlights a super vibrant top from any angle; you can’t say that about too many tops-very rarely do you see a top as dynamic as this one! Beautiful gloss finish in Lemonburst so that you can see ALL of the figured maple. Perfect weight for a Les Paul at 8 lbs, 8 oz (8 1/2 lbs). Neck is perfect in feel with .93/1st Fret and 1.03/12th Fret. Pickups are very responsive with neck PUP = 8.05K and bridge PUP = 8.52K. Very strong bass without sacrificing midrange clarity. On top of that, the guitar has a very strong resonance and plays effortlessly. All in all, the best Historic Les Paul I’ve had! The guitar is New with COA, OHSC, all tags/paperwork, original factory box. All I did was take the guitar out the box, make some minor PUP height adjustments, and took some pics. Prices are going up for 2015, so take advantage of the current lower prices for 2014. 2014 Gibson Historic 1959 Les Paul Description: Features include a one-piece rosewood fingerboard, Kluson™ Deluxe machine heads, hot-hide glue neck fit, a Historic Truss Rod assembly with no tubing, accurate body and fingerboard binding color, new Custom Buckers created in the image of the original PAFs, and period-correct Aniline dye offered in VOS and Gloss. Gibson Custom’s new Custom Bucker accurately recreates the original PAFs of the late ’50s, using Alnico III magnets and unequal turns of 42 AWG wire in each coil for that characteristic PAF “bite.” These pickups clean up beautifully at the guitar’s volume controls, while Bumble Bee tone caps assist in that warm, singing “woman tone” when you roll back the tone controls. To top it all off, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue plays superbly right out of its Custom Shop hardshell case thanks to a trip through one of Gibson’s state-of-the-art Plek machines before it leaves the Custom Shop floor.
