Left-over developmental needs we have not addressed will tend to - TopicsExpress

Left-over developmental needs we have not addressed will tend to create a certain frame of reference through which we choose our partners, based on what is unaddressed in our lives and not on what is inherently there, and will subsequently have a tendency to either burden or sabotage that relationship. Thats a very troubling thought too, isnt it? And you realise then the best thing we could ever do for relationship is to bring a more developed person to the table in that relationship. ~ James Hollis And I believe we can either do this work alone, or in relationship with another person/s who is/are willing to work alongside us. Not *for* us, but alongside us, with their material and with the material of the relationship itself. Seen this way, relationship can be an agent for growth that is second to none, because it works personally, interpersonally, and transpersonally.
