Legal League - Review Week 2: Flying Start For Defending Champions Defending Legal League champions JLeaguers enjoyed the ideal start to their title defence after recording a thumping 6-0 win over newly promoted HK Krauts on Saturday. Ken Sugiura, Kenta Furukawa, Shunsuke Nakamura, Kenichi Sekino, Tomoo Onodera and Youhei Zama scored at Happy Valley for last season’s double winners as HK Krauts suffered a second consecutive defeat at the start of the new season. The win leaves JLeaguers level on points with seven on teams at this early stage of the new season, with Young Guns three points clear at the top of the table having extended their 100% record after edging out Bants in a seven-goal thriller at Kowloon Tsai. Albert Tong, Sam Hui, Andrew Ho and Anka Wu scored as Young Guns followed up last week’s 4-2 win over Goodfellas to hand last season’s Division Two champions a defeat on their top-flight debut. Elsewhere, Goodfellas bounced back from their defeat at the hands of Young Guns with a 3-0 win over Discovery Bay, while USRC Power recorded a 2-1 victory against Team Shotgun. Ben Pickering scored twice for Goodfellas at Kowloon Tsai as Discovery Bay, who finished second last season as Studz, failed to follow up last week’s 1-0 win over Team Shotgun. On Friday, Thomson Yung and Olivier Bakalag scored as USRC Power picked up their first points of the season against Team Shotgun having lost last week’s season opener 3-1 to Initiative. In Division Two, San Pellegrinos maintained their 100% record with an eye-catching 9-2 win over Corinthians thanks to a hat-trick from Tom Foster. Cyrus Hendry also scored twice for San Pellegrinos, who beat Revolution 3-0 last week having been relegated from Division One last season. Revolution were able to bounce back with a 1-1 draw against Legal Head, while Michael Daniel scored the only goal on Friday as USRC Experience opened their campaign with a 1-0 win over SiHK on Friday at Kings Park. Finally, Vincent Ng’s late double rescued TWF a 2-2 draw with The Shooters, who had taken a seemingly commanding lead following two goals from Kodai Ochi at Kowloon Tsai.
