Legalist, doesnt believe in saved by grace alone, makes people - TopicsExpress

Legalist, doesnt believe in saved by grace alone, makes people follow laws that dont exist in the Bible, heretic, antinomian, talks too much about grace, teaches people can live like hell and go to heaven, hater of Charismatics, says all Charismatics go to hell, doesnt believe God heals people, doesnt believe in the blood of Jesus....I could go ON and ON about the FALSE accusations I have heard against MacArthur. He is not a perfect man, I dont agree with him on everything, but certainly he is one of the greatest, most humble, caring, genuine people I HAVE EVER met, and a man who does desire to teach truth. He has stated many times, that he certainly could be wrong about some things, he is not above correction, and is willing to change if anyone would bring to his attention any error, and I believe like the rest of us, preachers can be in error sometimes and learn and grow in grace as we all do. He is not wrong in his soteriology, he does not mix works with grace, and I have learned about grace from his church more than any other place I have ever been, he is not a legalist, he has strong opinions on certain subjects but he makes it clear it is his opinion and he is a very balanced and gracious person towards those who dont even agree with him, he is not an antinomian, he has never promoted lawlessness, he certainly does believe God can heal and has prayed over his own family and church members for healing and teaches us to come to the church if we are sick to petition the Lord for healing, he does not hate Charismatics, in fact his church is full of ex-Charismatics and he does not believe that all of them are going to hell, he believes that some Pentecostals are saved, that some Arminians are saved by grace the same way we are all saved, and he does believe in the necessity of the bloody death of Jesus. Im not going on some defensive about MacArthur because he is my pastor, and I refuse to see error in the man, no, I dont put him on a pedestal, as I said, I dont think he is right about everything, but what my point here is that I just wish people would take more time to get to know the person, and be careful to have more facts before making definitive statements to muddy his character, and to show some class and grace. You can discuss things you disagree about, but dont misrepresent the person as some heretic or wolf, when he is a sound teacher.
