Our current enrollment in Jefferson County Public School System is 36,424 students. As best we can determine, only ONE QUALIFIED student from our school system has used the Alabama Accountability Act. But ALL of our students have been denied resources because of it. As the Superintendent of the Jefferson County public schools, I ask for our states leaders to refrain from diverting state tax dollars away from its constitutionally intended purpose of supporting the needs of our public schools, community colleges and universities.
