Leland was my first cousin. He was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed. Praying for the family. Horace L. Loftis SPARTANBURG, SC: Horace Leland Loftis, 77, husband of Becky Pruitt Loftis, died after a brief illness October 16, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional. Born in Inman, SC , he was a son of the late William Clyde and Carrie Arvenia Brannon Loftis. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired as a Technical Sergeant after serving 20 years with the U.S. Air Force. He then worked 20 years for BI-LO retiring as Assistant Manager. He also worked for NAPA and Advance Auto. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loved animals. He was a great teacher and loved by everyone. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dana A. Loftis of the home, Silas W. Loftis and life partner, Russell Brannen of Taylors, SC; two daughters, Lisa L. Horton and husband, Todd of Spartanburg, SC, Sonya R. Loftis of Greenville, SC; two brothers, John Loftis and wife, Mary of Melbourne, FL, Arvin C. Loftis and wife, Cassandra of Portland, OR; a sister, Melba L. Hayes and husband, Phil of Atlanta, TX; a granddaughter, Tasha R. Waters and husband, Chad of Reidville, SC; two great grandsons, Cody J. Richardson of Reidville and Atticus C. Waters of Reidville. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, at Bobo Funeral Chapel with eulogies by family. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Hwy. 9, Boiling Springs, SC.
