Lemurs are considered the most endangered primates on earth and we are home to four different species of lemur. There is a healthy population in captivity but survival in the wild is very difficult due to poaching, deforestation, and human encroachment. Captive populations are being reintroduced into the wild after careful planning and execution. You can experience both the red ruffed lemur & the black and white ruffed lemur in our Lemur Encounters. We strive to educate and create awareness through programs such as these.
