Lend Us Your Hands And Invest In Africa Book Aid For Africa is a major initiative which is promoting excellence in education in Africa. The initiative is helping to provide good quality books to under-resourced libraries in the remotest parts of Africa, and also making other educational resources available to schools and colleges in Africa. Schools, colleges, universities and private donors from different parts of the UK donate books and other educational materials. These items are collected by volunteer drivers and in some cases the donors arrange delivery of these items to our warehouse in Sunderland. These items are collated, stamped, boxed, and sent out to needy schools, colleges, universities and libraries in Africa. By being apart of this work, there is a sense of great accomplishment, being an intregal part of a chain. There is a desperate need in most countries in Africa for educational resourses. These resourses will benefit primary, secondary, university education and effect the local and wider communities in these countries. Volunteers are urgently required to work in our warehouse, preparing these books and other materials for shipment. We also need drivers to collect these materials from our donors. Our warehouse is open Mon to Fri from 9.00am to 4.00pm and occasionally on Saturday. Any persons that offer full day volunteering will receive payment for expenses.
