Leon County, Florida is being sued over its child support processing contract. There is a reported $50 million on the line with allegations of secret meetings, cheating the government, and lack of transparency. There is, however, no mention of the ‘best interest of the child’. The child support system is a system designed to make money for the states, while denying low-income families any type of government benefits. Private companies are making millions of dollars off of the backs of children and will continue to do so until we force reform.
