Necessity of salvation( People are searching for a way to be saved ) Mans ways( religiosity, moral living, good works ) Gods ways( To be born again, John 3:3 ) 3. Process of salvation A. Born of water(v.5a) a1. Water symbolizes purity.A born-again will be made clean.(Isa. 1:18) a2. Water symbolizes water baptism of repentance( A born again publicly forsakes his sins and becomes washed of the past. B.Born of the Spirit( Literally means born from above ) b1. Born of the Spirit means God imputed the new spiritual life by the gift of the Holy Spirit. b2.The Holy Spirit will convict a person of his sin( Jhn 16:8 ) which leads to Repentance and confessing his sins to God. Therefore, Born-again(new birth) is an act of God by imputing new spiritual life to a person who repent,confess and accept the gift of salvation through Jesus redemptive works. 4. Method of Salvation( Acts 16:31 ) The keyword their is Believe . not an ordinary believing but it defines as genuine, pure, without any hesitation, heartily and no worry(doubt) as we accept the Gift of Salvation thru Christ. 5. The Story of Salvation( John 3:16) A. For God so LOVED the world. The love of God never dies.( Rom 5:8 ) B. That He GAVE JESUS means salvation(Mat.1:21).He himself is our salvation, He freely gave himself for our salvation. Note: Salvation cant be purchased and earned thru religiosity and good works. C. His only SON Christ as the substitute offering.( Jhn.1:29) Although God loved us( mercy ), He cant go agaist His word that the soul who sinneth,it shall die.(justice)( Ezekiel 18:4 ) God could not allow sin to go unpunished so a substitute( Jesus Christ )had to be provided to die for our sins. 6. Results of salvation A. Eternal life( John 3:16 ) B. Removal of condemnation( John 3:18 ) John 1:12, Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name , He gave the right to become children of God.
