Arguably it’s different from the other two, it’s not actually selling something… 9. I thought that, too, but when I actually stopped to consider the implications, it’s not so different, is it? 10. Am I right in thinking that the service is free? Yes, I think it would be a fair assumption. 11. I do think, though, that you can classify this advert according to the criteria we are looking at. 12. Do you think the main technique in that case then? No, the main thrust was definitely the half price… 13. We hear this kind of thing on adverts all the time, telling us about how absolutely amazing the product I, bit here it was used sarcastically, by a woman who obviously felt very doubtful bout these special offers and the language used to sell them. 14. I do think, though, that that kind of advertising approach is so different, and still quite unusual, that it makes you listen.
