Lessons The sun rises I know not to cling to that moment I cannot freeze it To make it last beyond itself I can be with the moment Savor what stirs in me Breathe in deeply the love or agony Wonder or simplicity Let the time flow With my heart and attention I will be time’s good company Sliding into river’s moving water Beneath blue skies Giant pines bid me safe travels Alone and not alone Drifting with no resistance The water is me and I am water Drifting until I grow weary Climb upon the bank Lay my body on the cool grass Held by the one which knows my name And the river flows on 4/22/14
