This war took the life of 9 million soldiers and had over 21 million wounded. Civilian casualty was close to 10 million... In the summer of 1919, June 28th, The Versailles Treaty is signed, in hopes to build a post war world and would protect itself from such devastating conflicts. Germany having denied entrance to the League of Nations, complained they had signed the armistice of 1918 under false pretenses.
